Bangladeshi killed in road accident

A 39-YEAR-OLD man has been killed and his wife and nine month old baby seriously injured after a crash in Western Australia’s Red Gully, 30km north of Gingin, last night.
Police said the crash occurred just before 8pm when the car carrying the man, his wife and child was travelling north on Brand Highway collided with a car travelling in the opposite direction.

Inspector Mal Anderson said the man died at the scene and his wife and baby were air lifted to Sir Charles Gairdner hospital by the RAC rescue chopper.

He said the woman and baby were in critical condition.

A Sir Charles Gairdner spokeswoman said the baby had been transferred to Princess Margaret Hospital and the mother remained in a stable condition.

Inspector Mal Anderson said the driver of the other vehicle was not seriously injured.

Police said career Fire and Rescue Service firefighters from Ellenbrook and volunteer firefighters from Gingin Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service helped free the injured from their car.
