Bangladesh High Commission, Canberra : 04 March 2008
Press Release

Bangladesh High Commission in Canberra will organize consular camps quarterly in Melbourne. The first consular camp will be organized on 12 and 13 April 2008 (Saturday and Sunday) at the following address:

Ashburton Library Meeting Room 154 High Street Ashburton VIC 3147 Melway Ref. 60C10

The consular camp will operate from 0900 hrs. to 1700 hrs. on Saturday, 12 April 2008, and from 0900 hrs. to 1200 hrs. on Sunday, 13 April 2008.

The following consular services will be available from the consular camp:
(a) Passport Renewal; (b) Endorsement in Bangladesh Passport (inclusion of children/change of name/profession etc.); (c) 'No Visa Required...' seal in Australian/New Zealand passport; (d) Visa (tourist, business etc.); and (e) Attestation (power of attorney or other documents like photocopy of Bangladesh passport, photograph, application for police clearance certificate from Bangladesh etc.).

The following services will NOT be available from the consular camp:
(a) Issuance of new passport in place of 10 or more years old passport; (b) Issuance of new passport in place of lost passport. Such cases must be sent by post to Bangladesh High Commission in Canberra fulfilling all the requirements and enclosing a self-addressed registered envelope.

Urgent fee to be charged at the Consular Camp for the following services:

Fee to be paid in the Consular Camp (in A$)
01 Renewal of Passport (Five years) 285.00
02 Renewal of Passport (for one year or a part thereof) 57.00
03 Endorsement in Bangladesh Passport (inclusion of children, change of name or date of birth etc.) 141.00

Fees for all other services (No visa required ..., visa, attestation) remain unchanged.

Mode of Payment
All payments must be made in the mode of Postal Money Order or Bank Cheque issued in favour of ‘Bangladesh High Commission’, as we DO NOT accept cash, credit card, eftpos or personal cheque. All consular service seekers are requested to have their money order or bank cheque prepared during week days as most of the post offices and banks are closed on weekends. Fee for consular services of multiple applicants (for e.g. members of a family) of different natures (for e.g. application for 'No visa required ...' seal and visa by separate applicants) must be paid in different cheques/money orders but of similar natures may be combined in one cheque/money order. This Mission would Repeat that cash will not be accepted under any circumstances.
