Time: 2.30pm sharp (please be there by 2.15pm; free mehdi design for early birds) and ends by 7.30pm

Dear All,

Please take a note of the following suggestions put forward by the thoughtful and innovative “priyoaustralia.com.au” Team responsible for this year’s “Kobita O Sheeter Pitha Utshab”.

1. We expect the majority of the participants would be enjoying the evening, sitting warm and snug on the ground but there will be a limited number of chairs available during the event for those who are unable to sit on the ground for medical reasons.
2. Please feel free to bring along your favourite cushion, baalish or any other piece of soft furnishing to sit on or to lean onto (not too big of course!!) and a comfortable shawl or a kaatha to wrap around yourselves in and enjoy the poetry in a warm and homely setting.
3. A good supply of hot water and a regular brand of blended tea and coffee will be provided but if you would like to bring along your own favourite brand of brew, please feel free to do so and make your own with the hot water provided.
4. Considering the shortness of daylight during our Canberra winter and it being a Sunday evening, we would endeavour to start right on schedule; please try and be on time or else you might miss some of the good fun.

Dear All,

On behalf of PriyoAustralia.com.au we are happy to invite you and your family to our 3rd “Kobita O Sheeter Pitha Utshab” to be held on the 4th of July 2010, between 2.30 pm and 7.30 pm at the Bangladesh High Commission, Canberra.

The main attractions of the day include Recitation of Poems, Getting to know our guest poet ‘Apurba Dutta’ from West Bengal and “Adda” while everyone enjoys a variety of traditional “Pithas” made by a core of volunteer “ pitha-makers” of the community. There is an added attraction this year where decorative “Mehdi” will be applied by volunteer mehdi artists to the early birds.

Please come and enjoy a warm and cosy evening during the depth of a Canberra winter amidst the poetry and pitha connoisseurs of our community.
