The liberation war through poems by Bangla Radio Canberra

This week’s program commemorated the 47th Independence Day of Bangladesh, celebrated on 26th March. The day is observed to commemorate the country’s declaration of independence from Pakistan in the late hours of 25 March 1971 after the Pakistani Army brutally committed genocide on unarmed civilian Bengalis in the name of “Operation Searchlight” that triggered the liberation war. This week’s program remembered the war through poems. This week’s program was produced and presented by Shampa Barua.
